POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will entail exposure and interaction with all of our divisions and their products. Assignments will vary greatly in scope. From the design of 3D models and molds for plastic products specific to any existing division. To research into developing markets or products and spearheading the start up of new divisions, manufacturing processes and facilities to bring these new products to market. QUALIFICATIONS: Architect/Engineer BS or BA degree in Architecture, Structural or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years practical experience.SKILL SETS REQUIRED [Highly Proficient] in: • 3D solid modeling (Solid Works, Inventor and or AutoCad) • Professional presentations using Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, other 3D rendering software. EXPERIENCE DESIRED: (the core functions of this position will include all or certainly most of these areas) • Engineering and manufacture of Tensile Fabric Membrane Structures. • Design /Engineering of Static Structures. • Using Finite Element Analysis software to evaluate structures with high wind, snow and seismic loading. • New Product Development (research, design, specification, procurement, documentation, Rollout). • Research and implementation of Building Codes requirements throughout the US. • Primary contact with Customers, Architects, Contractors, suppliers etc. • Shop drawing production for - manufacture, fabrication and assembly. • Hands-on creation of models and prototypes in wood, metals, and plastics. • Familiar with excel (or other) scheduling and project management software
CANDIDATE SELECTION CRITERIA : Jack of all trades. Renaissance Designer of anything from molded plastic parts to tensile membrane structures. Organized, productive, self starter. Able to step into any project, at any phase and carry it to completion. Young enough to learn anything new, old enough you don't have to be told how to do everything. Willing and able at all times. Devoted to your career, not just a job. Extremely flexible in managing assignments. Able to switch gears on the fly and balance a dozen assignments at once. Abhors being "pigeon holed", welcomes exposure to new challenges frequently. Not "too good" to do shop drawings. Prima donnas need not apply |
